theaternyx* takes us on a journey in their theater time machine to the 2060s, allowing us to experience the possibility of a caring city. A tender utopia for our harsh present.

Linz, mid-60s of the 21st century. The city has adapted to the changed climate. During the hot months, the Posthof serves as a SiestaSpace during the day - a well-tempered room where the people of Linz come to rest and care for one another. Visitors to the performance are also invited to join.

They immerse themselves in this State of Empathy. From the interactions they become involved in, a picture emerges of the crises the city has faced in the forty years since today. But they also hear stories of human creativity and resilience - and of how the transformation from violence to compassion, from separation to connection, from anger to love has been achieved.

For 25 years, Claudia Seigmann and Markus Zett have been creating innovative free theater as theaternyx*. Regular guests at the Posthof, they are known for their unusual use of theater and public spaces. With State of Empathy, they playfully continue their utopia training developed in their works über.morgen (2019-2022), Fürsorgliche Städte (2023), and Zeitenwalzer (2025).
