The baby boomer generation is retiring. Many want to reshape this chapter of their lives. Journalist Dieter Bednarz trained as a practitioner of psychotherapy and explores in conversations with experts how to enjoy aging. The baby boomer generation has either already retired or is on the verge of doing so. Many of these young seniors wish to reinvent this stage of life. This is also true for journalist Dieter Bednarz: in the second half of his life, he trained as a practitioner of psychotherapy. He sets out to discover how to make the most of this life phase. To do this, he visits leading experts in psychology, epigenetics, and medicine who research healthy aging, and he interviews them in a very personal manner—both entertaining and enlightening. Dieter Bednarz describes and analyzes our aging not only in its full diversity as a physical, mental, and spiritual process but also highlights the numerous and often unexpected opportunities that early retirement and pension offer us. For those who want to see aging as an opportunity to finally find satisfaction and fulfillment, the doctors, sociologists, psychologists, and philosophers that the author speaks with point the way in an entertaining manner. Dieter Bednarz reported for over 30 years as a political editor for SPIEGEL. His books "Survival on the Front Lines" and "A Man Can Be Wrong!" were adapted into films for ZDF. In cooperation with Osiander Heilbronn and the Literaturhaus Heilbronn.
