Curries are a culinary kaleidoscope that reflects the cultural diversity of their countries of origin. In India, for example, "curry" refers to a stew with a thick sauce that is served with bread or rice. The spice blends, known as "masalas," vary regionally and are often passed down within families through generations. These individual blends can contain up to 30 different spices, including turmeric, coriander, cumin, and fenugreek. In this cooking course, the multifaceted world of curries will be explored. Participants will prepare a selection of dishes that represent different flavor profiles and cooking methods. The course will teach how to handle aromatic spices and authentic ingredients, including making your own curry pastes. Afterwards, the prepared dishes will be tasted together, allowing for discussion about variations and new ideas related to cooking and enjoying food.
