Trophy Heist
In her second solo program, Malarina explores the phenomenon of "trophy women" from the East. Why do men like Donald Trump or Johann Gudenus choose women from the Balkans? And how does one become such a woman?
Malarina leaves her past as a socialist behind and vows to abandon the FPÖ in her search for old money. But who is the trophy now: the woman or the inheritance? And who is being robbed? The Austrian women who are overlooked by a wealthy ÖVP member, or the Balkan men from whom the "trophy women" are taken? And are women the only resource that is being taken from them?
Between capitalism and communism, between the European Union and China, Malarina delves into the paths of modern colonization.
