20 years of Fuzzman. Time to go home. In the sense of: arriving. Reflecting on the past, maybe even celebrating a little. What was, what is, what lies ahead. The stars over Vienna are well positioned for this, da-dam-dam-dam! Whoever is responsible for so many hits, for so many - sometimes uncomfortable - Austro-Indie pop highlights of the last two decades, like Herwig Zamernik, is entitled to do so. "Fuzzman Go Home" is a cornucopia, the gift that keeps on giving, and a wonderful, delightfully quirky compendium. At times it is nostalgic, then again it is crazy. It is political, as well as personal; sometimes all of that in the same song. Above all, it is understanding, empathetic, and motivating. Just like the person behind it. A musical companion through chaotic times.
But what is Fuzzman Go Home actually? The album is released as a limited, numbered double vinyl edition of 1000 copies with a stylish gatefold and an included "Fuzzman Go Home" patch, and – as far as our distribution can manage – exclusively in indie record stores (as well as through our Lotter distribution channels). Of course, it will also be available as an unlimited stream and download. We’re not like that!
On the four vinyl sides, which are packed to the brim, Fuzzman presents us with his self-portrait; more than just a mere hits collection. The biggest Fuzzman bangers from 20 years can certainly be found on it, but also previously unreleased live recordings, obscurities, personal favorite tracks from Herwig, as well as five shiny brand-new songs that place the restless artist in the here and now. There is no time for reverent pause, especially not in the provocative pre-release single "Keine Sterne über Wien," which brilliantly takes aim at the self-righteous so-called Wienpop hype of recent years. He is a troll, alongside all his other achievements, the Fuzze!
And Fuzzman himself? He doesn’t care about our money. He says hey. He says hey, he says ho… and us? We like him.
